A country house

Nestled in beautiful countryside with far reaching views across The Langtons, South Leicestershire. The Hall was divided vertically into three residences by developers some 20 years ago, and unfortunately most of the original features were lost in the the process.

I set about by recreating architectural interest and putting back the lost character. Bespoke joinery was key in creating the original look and feel, many rooms were clad in panelling, nooks filled with bespoke fitted bookcases, deep skirting boards, weighty architraves and panelled doors reinstated. Period fittings and quality luxurious finishes gave the bathrooms an authentic “bedded in” feel.  Taking advantage of the four metre high ceilings in the kitchen with roof lantern, over scaled bespoke cabinetry was designed to create a dramatic entrance in the light filled room with far reaching views through the English country garden.

Soft furnishings including made to measure, custom made curtains and blinds were commissioned and made by my team of seamstresses, window seats made comfortable with upholstered cushions. Custom flooring including wide floor boards in a smokey finish, Egyptian tumbled limestone flags applied to high traffic areas, classic honed marble tiles used for the bathrooms.  Leefroy Brooks, and Perrin and Rowe fittings were used extensively throughout the property.

The hall is a fantastic family home that exudes character and charm with a lived in feel, a classic mix of flea market finds sit harmoniously alongside smart new additions making for an extremely comfortable and inviting country retreat.

The Hall has featured in Country Homes and Antiques Magazine.
